Culture Fair Spring 2011: World Beats

The annual Culture Fair features 25 - 30 cultural, ethnic, and religious booths. Each booth is intended to educate, engage and expose the campus to the rich diversity that can be found among members of the Rice and Houston community. More than 400 visitors attend each year and this year's CF was even more enjoyable with live music from korean samulnori and Polish accordion player.

Culture Quest Fall 2010: Where's Waldo?

One of ADVANCE's most popular events, Culture Quest (CQ), is a citywide "cultural scavenger hunt" designed to expose Rice students to the vast array of diversity and culture in the greater Houston area. CQ is held each fall and typically draws over 150 student participants. CQ destinations include museums, ethnic restaurants and stores, theaters, libraries, and historical sites. Due to the generosity and support of restaurants and businesses in the community, we are able to provide an ethnic food feast following the scavenger hunt, and award prizes to the winning teams.
